features

My own moment with matcha

An all-in-one set bringing together the tea bowl, scoop, whisk, and caddy. Open the box and you can begin enjoying matcha right away — no special preparation required.

Echizen craftsmanship — a gentle wooden box and tea bowl

The wooden box is made using the techniques of Echizen lacquerware from Fukui, with Echizen washi paper inside that gently protects the tools.

The tea bowl is Echizen-yaki, fired specifically for IPPUKUBOX, with a soft texture that rests easily in the hand.

Three gentle colors that blend into your interior

The wooden box comes in three colors — pink, green, and white — that settle quietly into living rooms and dining rooms. The tea bowl is also available in three colors, letting you create your own IPPUKUBOX combination.

How to whisk matcha

1. Add the matcha

Place about two heaping scoops of matcha into a tea bowl that has been warmed in advance. Sifting the matcha beforehand prevents lumps and gives a smoother finish.

2. Pour the water

Quietly pour water at 70–80°C. Transferring boiling water to another vessel first brings it to the right temperature.

3. Whisk

First, gently combine the matcha and water with the whisk. Then, with the tip of the whisk just touching the bottom of the bowl, move it back and forth quickly. Whisk rhythmically, drawing an M shape with your hand.

4. Finish

Once the foam becomes fine, lift the whisk slightly and sweep across the surface to even the foam. To finish, draw a の-shape with the whisk to gather the foam into a beautiful peak in the center.
