about suzunone
A wind chime of vessel and sound, born from a chance tone
"Suzu no Ne" was born from a collaboration with designer Issei Miyake. Originally a prototype tea vessel, a chance light touch sent a clear, beautiful tone through the space — and from that moment, the development of a wind chime began.
This is part of the brand "=K+", where tradition and innovation resonate together to bring wonder and joy to everyday life.
features
The supporting frame is slim yet sturdy stainless steel. The base is designed in a double-circle form, balancing delicate lines with stability.
The suspended wind catcher is made of finely worked natural wood.
Each "Suzu no Ne" is one of a kind, finished entirely by hand.
No two have the same tone. Just as instruments have their own range and resonance, each chime sounds subtly different depending on its material and firing.
The white "Suzu no Ne" uses a delicate, ornamental porcelain glaze called crystalline flower glaze.
The glaze melts during firing, and as it cools, crystals bloom across the surface — a unique beauty born from nature itself. The result is a translucent, flower-like pattern with a refined sheen.
What is Kyo-yaki?
Kyo-yaki and Kiyomizu-yaki — traditional crafts cultivated in the thousand-year-old capital of Kyoto — have evolved through the ages while preserving a wide range of techniques and graceful designs.
The colored ceramics painted by masters such as Ninsei and Kenzan brought beauty to Japanese ceramic culture and continue to be highly regarded both at home and abroad.
As tools for everyday life and as works of art, they continue to enrich the hearts of those who use them.
