Their name originally referred to pottery produced around the Kiyomizu slopes in Kyoto, but today it encompasses a wide range of ceramics crafted across the city — each piece carrying the spirit of heritage while embracing the sensibility of modern life.

The fine crackle pattern (crazing), tiny pinholes, iron spots, and slight variations in glaze are all natural characteristics that occur during the handcrafted process using natural materials.
